Each cafe chair is meticulously hand crafted in France of the finest natural materials. First the rattan frame of the cafe chair is steamed and hand formed after which each cafe chair frame is then hand woven with Rilsan, a trademarked material derived from the castor bean plant. Because any one of our weave patterns can be woven on any cafe chair form, each order becomes unique and very personalized. These materials and hand craftsmanship produce a cafe chair that is durable, light weight and quite strong. You will recognize these cafe chairs, having seen them in many of the sidewalk cafes in France as well as the finer restaurants in New York and across the US.
